Very disorganized management - Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Keystone Quality Transport Employee Review

Pros

You can do whatever you want. Want to be late? No problem. Want to leave early? No problem. Want to sit inside an ambulance for 3h while there is a call waiting for you? No problem. Field EMTs rule that company.

Cons

There is no leadership. Dispatchers are extremely rude. Huntingdon Valley has no manager and not enough ambulances. Port Richmond is full of trashy people. All ambulances have something wrong. Pay is a joke. They have no regards for your health, the harassment to work overtime is real. After a 12h overnight shift, they will call you at 8am like is nothing.

Pros

Easy to get in, straightforward, good hospital contracts, variety of shift types and stations, plenty of overtime available if you are consistent and professional

Cons

Low pay, have to work a lot of overtime to earn decent money. After 1-1.5 years here there's probably nothing left to do and it's all on you to advance your career and move on out. But people here do get picked up by Police Departments, Fire Departments, Paramedic Schools, Nursing Schools, and so on. Also, partner quality can vary significantly--but that's what you accept in order to get some of the opportunities here. Great place to get yourself back together if you're not dialed in right out of the gate.

Pros

Powershifts are worth it only if you have a set partner

Cons

Friction with dispatch can make days longer and harder
