Pros
Will learn to stand up to upper management, and repeat yourself often.
Cons
Where to begin? The only way for advancement is if you are a General Manager or Regional Manager. Advancement isn’t even the word, respect is probably more suitable. Consistently reached on prospective management roles, looking for a “bargain hire” rather than doing what was best for the property. Additionally, there is a clear lack of interest in the “development from within” method of business. Higher ups will blow smoke to you and be your best friend to your face, promising to help and mentor you, and then turn around and leave you in the dust. Want better for yourself, you deserve better, look elsewhere. You’re welcome. Oh, and also, if you plan on having any Work-Life balance as a full time employee, get ready for a rude awakening.
