Pros
You will work with the smartest folks in the business, no question. There are multiple people in this org that have been in this space for decades + that truly take a lot of pride in this product and have dedicated themselves to building a rocket!!! There is a “no jerk” policy at J1 and everyone is really nice. Nice certainly isn’t everything you need in a team, but this team WORKS as a team. It’s fluid as everyone supports each other and everyone is extremely customer committed above all else. The vibe from the moment I started is “everyone has the same goal” and I cannot think of one person in this company that does not hold true to that. Paul Forte is the best there is… personally, professionally, he is unmatched. He treats everyone as equals and as teammates, but also leads with grace and positivity. Don’t mistake his positive outlook as a lack of understanding of reality. He makes necessary moves to support the organization as a whole towards a common goal. He’s an excellent leader all around. The benefits are good…. Insurance is SOLID! $2k vacation expense after 6 months + a ton of perks. Can’t complain at all with this package. You aren’t micromanaged here… you’re supported. Nobody has the time nor desire to babysit. If they hire you, they trust you to get it done and support you along the way.
Cons
Think about how many start ups don’t make it…. This one is making it and the proof is in our customers! Was there a rough patch? Yeah, no question about it, but it’s the shift and recovery that matter. It’s the leadership and strategy that matter. They figured out the issues, shifted gears and made changes. What else can you ask for? Every company goes through it, but you MAYBE hear about 1%. This is the reality of risk and reward. There is no where to go but up with this product and this company.
