Pros

Very rewarding job, you get to know the kids very well and usually end up loving most of them. It's great working in a center because you get to know your co-workers well and there is a nice sense of camaraderie!

Cons

I think it's the nature of the job but the energy and effort it takes at this job should really be compensated better. Employees had to clean the center a lot when I was there, I wished there was a more regular cleaning service.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback. We agree that working with our learners and taking part in changing their developmental trajectory is priceless! We love that our center-based model allows for a team-oriented environment that reinforces continuous training and mentorship as well as allows our staff to support each other on a daily basis. We take employee feedback seriously, and in doing so we created career pathways within JAC. This allows our Behavior Technicians to move into new positions with increased pay scales as their experience in ABA and the company grows. Especially due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, we have increased the amount of employee required cleaning as well as increased professional cleaning services (including deep cleaning and fogging) to ensure the safest environment for our team and the learners whom are entrusted with our care.

Pros

- Comprehensive training and onboarding — far more in-depth than other ABA or healthcare agencies I’ve worked for - Clear, consistent expectations covered in training and written out - Supervisors are regularly on-site and available for support, and even if they aren't in the center for a day, they will answer a Slack or text quickly - Other more experienced RBTs and "support" staff are always willing to help or jump in when needed - The leadership seems to genuinely care about employees and kids - Feels like a team working toward a shared mission, not just a job

Cons

- The work can be fast-paced and demanding at times (but that’s the nature of ABA and healthcare) - High standards and accountability might not be a fit for everyone, especially those who just want to "do their own thing"
