Pros
I have less expectation when I am entering the company as an intern, because I do realise that this is a "government company". Unfortunately, it was the best experience for me as an intern during Sep 2025 - Feb 2026,
Under the supervision of the officer at that time, it was a valuable learning experience. I gained practical exposure to administrative work, documentation processes, and digital systems while also learning about government procedures and customs operations. The officers were supportive and willing to guide interns, making it a good environment for learning. The internship helped me improve professionalism, communication, teamwork, and time management. I also appreciated the opportunity to observe different units and gain broader exposure beyond routine office tasks. Overall, it is a good place for students and fresh graduates seeking public sector experience.
Cons
The internship is mostly repetitive admin work with limited exposure to real operational tasks. Learning depends heavily on the unit and supervisor, and at times, there is not enough structured work, leading to idle periods. Processes are also slow due to government procedures, and interns have little involvement in decision-making or core activities.
