Pros

- Working in a social service agency you are doing good work and are helping individuals. - You work with good people. - Time off.

Cons

- Pay: you are not being paid what you are worth. Even for a non-profit it seems a bit low. - Union: They are useless. It seems that they work for JASA more than the employees. - Upper Management: You are never recognized for the good work that you do. They expect you to bend over backwards for them, but they don't care or pretend to care about you. Project Directors are not allowed to run their programs properly, Supervisors are not allowed to supervise as they deem appropriate. Too many cooks in the kitchen. - Being a social service agency funded by the city as well as various other donors there is a lot of paper work which sometimes get in the way of doing actual social work. - Minimal chances for advancements unless you are a MSW or LMSW/LCMSW. - Morale is low and people are just generally dissatisfied.

Pros

Helping seniors lives to improve and be better while also giving them the support they need

Cons

Terrible management and work environment due to managers.Management retaliation when you speak up and stand up for yourself. They would rather protect their managers than admit that some of their managers don’t know how to proffessionally deal with work place conflicts professionally ,rather their managers would rather be dishonest and make up grievances that are not true about their employees simply because they used their right to professionally speak up for themselves.Honestly unless you really need a job please don’t work here
