Pros

Mobility within the company is limitless

Cons

As a former employee I was extremely excited to join JPMC. Shortly after joining I realized that the infrastructure of the company is built on immoral characteristics that promote bigotry, racism, and elitism. Numerous times I recalled my senior manager who has been in the company for 30+ years make extremely offensive remarks, behave unprofessionally, and blantly show me that I was not her favorite. The atmosphere in company was set up in a way that all senior management rose through the ranks together so even if a formal complaint was filed, it would be swept under the rug. After coming back from medical leave, the manager even forgot to pay for multipe weeks of work. I am happy to leave the company and hope in the future there might be an old guard change.

Pros

The team was supportive and willing to answer questions. I gained practical experience in industry research, financial analysis, Excel, and data organization while working on real projects. Managers provided helpful feedback, and the internship was a good opportunity to understand how research and analytical work is completed in a professional environment.

Cons

Some assignments could become repetitive, especially data cleaning, database updates, and reviewing large amounts of information. Deadlines could also be tight during busy periods. Because the internship was relatively short, interns sometimes had limited ownership over longer-term projects.
