Pros
*Decent hourly rate or full time salary
*Pretty good part time gig, if you are on the right project
*Great equipment, decent benefits
*Good use of tools - Jira, Google, Slack, Harvest, Gusto, Zoom, GitHub
*If you are lucky enough to get on a good team, you will learn some stuff even if it's a crash course
*Contract Payment processing is easy and streamlined with Gusto
*They are discreet about your employment as a side gig
*Easy Interview
Cons
*Do not expect a performance review or rate increase
*Lack of interesting projects
*Unable to move to a different project once you have domain knowledge
*As a full time contractor - you will have times where you do not get 40 hours a week to charge
*No time to learn or grow without stress because you have to account for every minute of your day as a producible item for a client
*Projects discovery takes too long and does not give detailed requirements
*Benefits stop on your last day. If they decide to move your last day - you will lose your insurance without notice
*I highly advise any developer to ask them to explain their turn over rate before deciding to join - take them up on their offer of transparency!
