Pros
Freedom around the workplace Great company parties In general, co-workers are great to work with Pay is good at first Great foot in the door for renewable energy experience
Cons
Pay is not competitive with other renewable companies Raises and promotions rarely given based on work load, work habits, and merit. In fact, it will take years to get a real raise, but they will increase your workload or move you to a different department in the meantime. No training given (at Corporate). You will spend your first few months trying to figure out what your job consists of and what you should be doing. However, you will be expected to be doing all of the work that you were never told how to do or that it even existed. Management doesn't listen. They just blame the person above them for the decisions they make or execute. "My hands are tied" is a common phrase hear, or some form of it. No "managers" seem to be able to make actual decisions. You will do the work of about 3 people, no matter what position you hold in this company. They keep a very small work force, no matter what the demand is. And they will pay contractors 3 or 4 times your salary to do less, before they will pay you more.
