Working at this small freight forwarding and customs brokerage was an enriching experience for me. I was able to learn and expand my knowledge in the field of exports and imports. The owner is very collaborative to help and teach. The dynamic nature of logistics kept the work engaging but not overwhelming. Because it’s a small environment, the tasks vary which allows you to develop your skills and not be stuck doing only one thing.

Although stressful times are uncommon, they do happen sometimes.

Company was willing to sponsor a J1 visa, albeit for the sake of cheap labor.

The company is lead top down... poorly. You are told what to do and how, there is no deviating from this. Every single employee that works here is miserable and looking for a way out. There was no on-boarding or training, 'marketing tasks' assigned by owner's husband are outrageous, pointless and will NEVER lead to new business. Business systems and equipment are beyond antiquated - be prepared to create a label on a 70s typewriter, print on the back side of paper that has been used before and to sit at your desk from 9-5 without saying a word unless you enjoy being yelled at.
