Pros
In my 6 years working for OneBeacon, I've had the opportunity to advance upwards in the organization. They've consistently recognized my performance and rewarded it appropriately. Both within my department and within other departments I've worked with, I've only ever dealt with respectful, virtuous people. This has facilitated an enjoyable work environment, where employees are motivated to help each other provide the best product possible to our customers. A goal the top executives & management are continually preaching is to provide a great customer experience and I truly believe that most employees are striving to do just that.
Cons
There have been a few instances where inefficient processes are, and have been, in place for years and nothing has been done to improve them. This often times falls on the department that continues to do things because "that's how we've always done it". Other times, it falls on upper management for not dedicating resources to initiatives to ease manual/time consuming processes. I think the company is getting better at making progress in this area, but there is still room for improvement.
