Pros

On day one, I felt like I was a true member of the Inspire team. Onboarding at Inspire is extremely intentional, starting with a nearly month-long listening tour so you can get to know the business and the people who make it run. You shadow the customer experience group so you can hear interactions between our amazing Member Experience team and our customers. This is a company that truly cares about the entire people ecosystem and ensures that you know that from the beginning. My work history is rooted in bureaucracy, with tons of approvals needed to make anything happen. In my first five months, I have made a huge impact at Inspire with minimal oversight AND felt comfortable doing so. I attribute that to the culture that Inspire has built; there is no fear of failure in this "try anything once" atmosphere. If it doesn't work, no big deal - we'll figure out how to make it better. We live in a business world where "iterate" "collaborate" and "think outside the box" jargon are thrown around incessantly and are rarely realized - simply not the case here. If you raise your hand for a project at Inspire, you're given a shot and trusted with the outcomes. This is not a group of people that give lip-service to being mission-driven. Every day, we wake up and give it our all because of the urgency of our mission and the passion each of us have for it. I consider my individual contribution the lending of my skillset to a greater cause. Regardless of whether you are a software engineer, environmental products specialist, operations analyst, recruiter, data engineer, or financial analyst, you contribute equally in a company full of the smartest people in the room. I have never had a professional experience like the one at Inspire and I'm confident that it will only continue to get better.

Cons

As we scale and grow tremendously, we need to think about a more effective way to communicate interdepartmentally and top-down,

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us; it's amazing to hear what a great experience you've had at Inspire! We're proud of the robust onboarding program we've created to help employees understand our business, connect with our customers, and learn how to partner effectively with their peers - it's incredible to hear that experience resonated for you! At Inspire, we believe in the team we've built and their ability to think big, take risks, and deliver results; it's great to hear you find this autonomy refreshing, and THANK YOU for taking it in stride and charging towards crushing those goals. It's wonderful to hear about the passion you feel amongst your colleagues in driving our mission of accelerating a net zero carbon future forward as well; it's that passion that will get us to where we want to go. When it comes to the importance of interdepartmental communication, we hear you. We recently made some organizational changes to better support communication and workflow between departments and made additional investments in our internal communications to create intentional and informational moments, like in our Biweekly All Hands, for example, that create companywide clarity. We're so appreciative of your feedback and lucky to have you as an Avenger! Best, Becca Quirk Manager, Employee Experience
