Inovalon is a company where the masses suffer silently. It's a company that doesn't value work life balance at all where working evenings and weekends are the expectation, not the exception. It wouldn't bother me as much if it wasn't for the fact that putting in long hours is the results of our own ineptitude and inefficiencies. We're not putting in the late hours to work on an exciting new release or to impact changing in a meaningful way - we work late because we can't get out of our own way. Employees are basically in one large boat putting in a lot of effort but rowing in opposing directions, never advancing.
Inovalon has neither a large, sophisticated software company but they're not a small mom & pop shop either. And yet somehow, they've managed to combine the worst attributes of both. Inovalon has clunky rules and regulations like a huge corporation but lack discipline and processes like a start up being run out of a garage.
Lastly, I've seen layoffs happen at every single company I've worked at in the past. Unfortunately, they happen but the manner in which it's done speaks to the true integrity of a company and it's senior management. Layoffs occur almost monthly at this organization and even those who've been with the company for years get zero notice period. In fact, their access is shut off on the spot so they have no chance of saying goodbye and ensuring a smooth transition with those left behind. Another example of poorly made business decisions.
