Pros

Working at Ingram you can develop a network of beneficial contacts. More people "used" to work at Ingram than actually work there. Exposure to global corporate structure provides valuable experience for your next job. Severance packages are 1 week per year plus 2 weeks. They also include paid COBRA during severance period. Some employees will receive a working notice which will extend the amount of time to find a new job.

Cons

High turnover. People often leave and people are often let go seemingly without discretion. Very thin profits create a lot of opportunity for strategic changes usually leading to a reduction in head count. Change in strategy typically occurs before projects are complete. Sr management will stop projects mid-stream in reaction to executive leadership. As people are let go, their work is absorbed by the remaining employees increasing everyone's work. Don't get old. Once you reach 50 you should begin to look elsewhere. If you are applying at Ingram and you are close to 60 -- don't bother. Age, health, and major life events play a role in their decision whom to keep or let go. Fortunately, severance packages and the positive reputation of working for Ingram help with the transition to a new job. Parking in Irvine is chaotic.
