Love my job as a cashier. Challenging but fun, due to the fact I work in a high traffic, busy store. - Front End Cashier Ingles Markets Employee Review

Pros

Great w/ working w/your schedule, especially in college. Decent pay for a part time job (I get 9.25). Nice management mostly, good environment overall. My store stays busy so there's always something to do. I love most of my coworkers, from all depts. it's like one big family.

Cons

Disorganized management (due to the fact they don't get enough training, they're just thrown out there). We're often shorthanded with our cashiers and baggers. I moved up to bookkeeper shortly after I started, then moved back down about 7 months later due to lack of management hiring help in the office causing me to almost fail my college classes 2 semesters in a row. Long story short I do so much for the store and do whatever needs to be done on the front end, and I've only ever received one thank you & it was the other day from a new CSM. Otherwise, a great job.

Pros

-Rotating Weekends (Work Sat/Off Sun then Off Sat/Work Sun) -Flexible Scheduling

Cons

-You are expected to do a lot of work for very little pay -Being promoted is extremely unlikely and any wage increases is purely for inflation, not because they think you deserve it. -If you do not fight for higher wages they will not give it (I knew someone who has worked full-time in the deli for years longer than I, but somehow he made less than me) - Deli Management is very clique like, the assistant store manager has many complaints filed against him. -Expected to work holidays, no holiday pay or overtime (ever)
