Repeated changes to start dates made it difficult to commit confidently.
Inconsistent explanations for delays, creating confusion and uncertainty.
Lack of clear communication regarding hiring decisions.
Financial and professional difficulties caused by turning down other job opportunities.
Overall challenging experience with the hiring process.
I was offered the job and gladly accepted, even signing the contract well in advance of the agreed start date. However, the day before I was supposed to begin, I received a call from the HR team informing me that my start date needed to be pushed back by three weeks. Although this was inconvenient, I understood and agreed to the delay.
After three weeks had passed, I received another call, once again the day before my new start date. This time, I was informed that they couldn't provide me with a new start date at all but were not willing to rescind the offer. This lack of certainty made it impossible for me to commit confidently to the role.
Ultimately, this has left me in a highly unstable and stressful position. The repeated delays and lack of clear communication have created significant uncertainty, making it difficult to plan for the future or secure alternative employment. The experience has been frustrating and disheartening, as I have been left in a limbo without any clear direction or assurance from the company.
My advice to anyone who is starting or has been offered a contract with this company is to ensure you have a backup plan. Despite having a contract, the start date was postponed at the last minute, and the situation remained unresolved. To mitigate similar risks, I recommend continuing to seek other employment opportunities until you are sat at your workstation. (I would say, until you have a confirmed and reliable start date, but I had two)
