Pros
I learned a great deal.
Cons
I was hired as a SQL Server administrator. The advertisement was for a SQL Server admin with over 15 years experience. When I interviewed it was clear that I was a SQL Server admin not an Oracle admin and I was told I was being hired to build a SQL Server cluster. I took the position then walk into a project that was an all Oracle Position that was behind by one year. They wanted a bridge between two Oracle applications. I found a way to accomplish the task even though I'm told it still doesn't work though I'm told by others it should work but they don't understand the technology. I left this employer after a few months. I would recommend verifying the job prior to actually performing it prior to taking a position with this company. Stacks are different and senior positions in one stack should not be given to senior positions in a completely different stack. That was a set up for failure.
