A Tale of Two Bosses - Anonymous employee Imperial Textile Employee Review

In 2017 I was hired as a vinyl cuter/ production worker. In 2018 I was reassigned to the proof coordinator position. I have since moved to running the graphics (production) as well as customer service and proof coordination of my own Ecom brand in a different industry than Imperial. However, in spite of being a different industry- the skills that I learned in both the vinyl cutting room (smart, functional designs catered to the existing production techniques, vs. "open ended design skills learned in an average 4 year program") This is extremely important for any graphics related job. As proof coordinator, I used these skills to gap the bridge between production and, a new position, and skill I hadn't previously utilized - customer service. I have never reached out to a former owner/boss and thanked him for the skills I learned in his shop- however I did just that with these owners, and I will thank them again! Mitchell Eklum

Its a tough industry -graphics, production and small scale manufacturing, with a lot of overseas competition and a lot of overhead. Its not always easy, but don't take any "unappreciative pay" as being personal.

I didn't see any advantages to working here. I did feel some of the advantages and have mentioned them below.

It was a small company where everyone was stressed. The deadlines were the worst part of this job, as the arrogant management did not reasonably set them. It was clear that the management didn't care about employee well-being and wanted to exact more work out of us by adding to the awful pressure. Please beware and avoid working here. Remember, excess stress can kill you-even the doctors say that.
