Pros

Imagine Learning had great flexibility if you are a part-time employee. As long as you worked your required hours and are available during your office hours, it was a great work/life balance and you could make personal appointments during the day if needed. It was easy to find a sub as long as you help out other teachers when needed. My supervisor was amazing, and was always available to assist me when needed.

Cons

When you are part-time, you a a maximum number of hours you are allowed to work without getting permission to work more. At the end of a semester, students that have done nothing for months start turning in everything at once and it is almost impossible to complete the daily phone calls, grade work of students that have been working, and grade work of all the students that have suddenly decided to do months worth of work in the hours allowed. It gets very stressful and frustrating that this is allowed to happen, and it throws off the system you have in place to get everything done. As a part-time teacher, you get the last of the students, so at one point, I went from working my normal 25 hours a week to having 1 student in over 3 months because they were overloading all of the full-time salary teachers with students to save money, I presume. It was a good job for 2 years until this happened. I counted on this income and they kept telling me to be patient. I had to resign and go back to teaching in the regular classroom because I couldn't be without an income any longer. If you are full-tine, you are guaranteed work, but be prepared to work upwards of 60 hours a week (as told to me by my team members) and have over the capacity of students. I know this to be true because I subbed for many all-time teachers and I was astonished by how many students they were made to keep up with.

Pros

Pay is competitive. Remote work. A few days a week of regional travel at the federal compensation rate. This has been an educational entry-level job to learn the basic stakeholders and sales cycles for K-12 curriculum. The people I work with are great and knowledge/experience is a strong resource at this company.

Cons

The higher leadership of the organization does not foster a positive, collaborative culture. Different teams/regions work in silos. Any collaboration and communication happens primarily by our own individual efforts. Also, systems change yearly. It's difficult for everyone to adapt, and as a result the sales team has little faith in following the process. Job security is iffy. There has been continuous talk of eliminating my position in my state for over a year now.
