I read other reviews before starting so my expectations were already pretty low but the reality of it was much worse. Offered me the job during the interview (red flag) Takes the term soul destroying to a new level. It's a typical cold calling call center so nothing glamorous. Low pay, bums on seats etc. but what makes it worse is the company culture is so toxic. I feel sorry for the people that have worked there for a long time because they don't realise how toxic it is as they have no reference point for a normal working environment. Kind of how people stay in an abusive relationship thinking it's healthy because thats all they know. Very 'hire ∧ fire' vibes. (witnessed multiple senior and lower level staff come and go in a matter of weeks.) Poorly managed. Training is non existent. Was on the phones by day 2 after a couple slideshows and some personality tests. No training given whatsoever on what exactly you’re selling, and use cases etc. etc. They just leave you to figure it out and wonder why their turnover is so high (Low IQ business practice) You're basically given 100's of leads to call from a database that have already been called by dozens of other people in the company. The leads are uninterested and sick of hearing the name 'Ice Comms'. You are then literally trained to lie and say you spoke to them before to build fake rapport. Once you go through the leads, somebody else gets those same leads over and over and over again. By the time you speak to someone they’ve been called about 10-15 times by 10 other people in the company and they're just sick of you. (This must be one of the lowest IQ sales processes I've ever witnessed) Management/senior staff are just interested in self preservation in the company. Team leaders aren't bad but aren't amazing either, they are more of a symptom not the main problem. The database and systems are so basic that there’s no way to tell if the same person has been called 10 times in the same day. You often end up calling people WHO ARE ALREADY SIGNED UP and have contracts as the company is too cheap to invest in technology that tells us if WE ARE DIALLING TO EXISTING CUSTOMERS smh. Shady, scammy and shifty business practices. Countless times you call someone and they complain how they are literally suing the company as we speak (not even joking) for over charging them and hidden fees costing small businesses tens of thousands and tying them up to long contracts. Very transparent... Thankfully I had other opportunities lined up and this was a stop gap for me but I would strongly caution anyone who values their sanity to look elsewhere. I wasn't going to write a review as I was quite happy to never think about this place again. But if I can save somebody who's looking to do an honest days work at a well run ethical company long term from biting the bullet, then my job is done.
