Pros
Business pilosophy is simple, focused, and effective. Those that get it, love t and enjoy working at ITW. ITW drives earnings by driving the business philosophy into the over 800 autonomous divisions and letting them drive their success. The corporate culture is suportive and lacks the bureaucratic interfearance typical of an organiztion this size. They value their people!
Cons
The autonomous philosophy permits a select few businesses to opperate outside the norm, which has allowed a few bad apples to linger in management positions. The good news is that the results oriented business phiosophy catches up with them after some time. All in all,an excellent place to work.
