Pros

Smart offices, flexible working, some very good people. The business has received significant investment in a growth area and could provide career opportunities for someone with the right kind of corporate mindset.

Cons

Worked for ITS for about a year. It seemed the company was experiencing problems of being a small business that had grown quickly. ITS had received a lot of investment and was burning money. A significant amount going to external contractors, often with a very friendly relationship with those at ITS in control of the budgets. ( Half a million per year for 3 developers to work on their portal. Over a million had gone on a salesforce implementation that equated to around 20k per user. ) It felt there was significant 'empire building' going on, where management just wanted a big team. Myself , like other new staff I spoke to, never really felt part of the business. I got used to being totally ignored when asking for information (it became a running joke), and really struggled to make any impact. I frequently, along with my junior staff, pretty much had nothing to do. In addition, they had an overeager HR department who frequently assigned patronising compulsory online training courses to you ( driver safety? for home workers? really? ). They also had a hilarious inability to park correctly at the head office. Every day a company wide email about someone parking inconsiderately. Ultimately I left because I was being asked to scrutinise work from external consultants who were being paid more than double what I was, which I found insulting.

Pros

It’s a really nice place to work overall. People are supportive and easy to work with, and there’s a strong sense of collaboration across teams. Everyone is quite driven, but in a positive way, and there’s a shared focus on solving problems and doing the right thing for customers. One thing I really appreciate is the regular updates from leadership. They give a clear view of how the business is doing and what’s happening in the market, which helps you understand the bigger picture and how your work fits into it. From my experience in the Salesforce team, the managers and architects are very supportive and approachable. They’re also flexible and understanding when it comes to balancing work and family commitments, which makes a big difference day to day. The hybrid working setup is another big plus, along with the overall benefits. It feels like a place where you’re trusted to get on with your work, while still having the support you need.

Pros

The people who care, but they're dwindling.

Cons

- No career development - Toxicity from leadership - Extremely poor pay - No support when teams change - Disappearing managers - Freedom and flexibility gradually being taken away - Huge turnover It doesn't matter how much value you deliver, you will be ignored by leadership and shouted down to. All that matters is the number at the end of the week. There's no investment into people. They're continuing to expand on responsibilities, but don't match it with appropriate renumeration. You're paid in "development" and "exposure" to areas that have nothing to do with your role or career objectives and all it does is mask major resource issues. Great for prepping you for your next role, awful for retaining you. They'll sell you a good story when you start, all punctuated with 'it's a growing, fast paced business with loads of opportunity' but it masks chaos, internal miscommunication, a disjointed leadership, toxic culture, and constant change. People are hired just to be made redundant a year later. The business is unrecognisable from a few years ago.
