Pros
People from other departments are very nice. They will make the job somewhat enjoyable. The only events that I was able to attend were pretty fun.
Cons
If you feel like being degraded and taken advantage of on a regular basis, please go ahead and accept a job in the research department at IHS Markit. The "managers" on this team are the most incompetent people I have ever worked with. The lack of regard these so-called managers have for their employees is appalling, to the point where I myself had to quit to remove myself from such a toxic environment. Examples of what you can expect while working as a research analyst: 1. You will have to figure out how to do your job using SharePoint, GOOD LUCK. Be prepared to be treated like an idiot for even asking questions in the first place. 2. You will be told to pay back the minutes it took you to go to the bathroom during lunch time. No, this is not a joke. 3. You won't be allowed to attend any event that the company has because you should be at your desk "meeting your monthly goals". Let me tell you, you will never be able to attend any because the amount of work is ridiculous. 4. You will be expected to work IN the office during snow days or even when a hurricane is passing by, however, don’t worry! The managers will work from home just to be safe. I wish I was making all of this up, I really do. Unfortunately, this is just a glimpse of several absurd situations I personally encountered or witnessed while working here. IHS management, not because you've had people working at the same company for X amount of years means they are qualified to occupy leadership positions. Please if you are reading this do yourself a favor and just KEEP looking for a better gig!
