Pros

Cons
Interested applicants should read all the reviews and make your own decision. The Hyland of today is not the same Hyland it was 5 years ago. Recruiters still show videos of 5 years ago and the perks they provided 5 years ago. It's not the same as it was. Pay is well below average with terrible raise structure and bonus structure unless you are customer facing. Nepotism is out of control with VP family members climbing to the top within weeks of hiring. Health benefits are really expensive and are company funded with only one plan to choose and it's a high deductible plan many employees cannot afford. DayCare center receive all the attention and now occupy 2 buildings, while 6 employees are crammed into pods made for 4. Raises and Bonuses for non-customer departments are insulting and most do not get bonuses. Expect raises well below 3% and a bonus once every 5 years. Mid level management micromanaging will drive you crazy with no clear direction of guidance. Team leaders are often scratching their heads and are leaderless. 8 to 6 working conditions with ZERO work-life balance in departments that do not face the customer. Everyone gets over time and it is optional, but if you don't use it, your manager sees you as a non-team player and is a big factor in raises and bonuses. Employee reviews no longer take place and managers and team leads leave you out in the cold on performance, Zero chance to catch something in your performance until it is too late, and that leads to no bonus or raise. Company Perks used to be a thing, But now just hype for the media. Perks happen about twice a year, unless free Diet soda is considered a perk. Onsite diner is kinda backwards. Over priced small portions to parade in front of customers, within the last 2 years the quality of the diner has tanked. No new thinking, IS department continues to keep Hyland from being a leader in Hi-tech industry, using decade old new equipment in conference rooms with each one being different and the need to carry multi able adapters and having a support guy standing by, because nothing works the way it should. IS ignores updated technology and keeps things as cheap as possible leaving you with little options to hold a successful meeting. Almost zero chance of promotions due to department structuring and constant re-org. Some who are promoted are related to Managers and VP's and often are promoted into new made up departments or job titles. Career development plans do not exist anymore. Under staffed departments who are buried in work are unable to hire in a timely manner, No one knows the formula to hire but one thing is for sure, It takes a long time and most often it's the person who takes the first lowest offer. This is really bad in IS / QA / Tech Support. Hyland still believes that every employee is family, HR ignore important employee complaints and concerns and often changes employee policy with the help of management. The employee handbook is just words that mean nothing and HR can change anything contained within it at anytime without notice.
