Pros

The location is safe, I suppose. Given the lack of text in this space I'll use it to warn you that almost every positive review of this company is likely fake and written by a manager from this company looking to boost their profile. That is the entire point of this company's existence after all. Nobody who worked there was an outright pain, in fact most were pleasant enough even if the average coworker-coworker interaction is around 30 seconds. Just keep in mind, nice facades are what writer mills such as this are all about. These are hardly "pros" of any business.

Cons

It's hard to know where to begin. Despite ads that have claimed you'll make around ~$15 an hour, this is a piece meal job which requires on-the-spot research, often requiring nearly an hour to complete each article--particularly the longer ones which you'll be asked to write. During my time with HubShout, it was not uncommon to make a maximum of $5 for a lengthier post (especially if you were required to write the fake "comments" below your very article), or as low as $2.30-$3 for a shorter one. Also, another word of warning as I doubt this has changed, you are required to bring your own computer to work as they haven't "splurged" on stuff like that yet. Yeah, we're a real priority us "writers."

We are very sorry to hear this feedback. But also a bit confused. All of our full-time writers receive benefits (health insurance, 401k and paid vacation). They are also paid by the hour and use a punch-clock for time tracking so that all time is appropriately paid (including overtime). So I'm at a loss on your math. I'm guessing you were a freelancer? Freelancers are paid per post, work 100% from home and have total control over their work. As for the "nice facades" - again, we are quite sorry to hear this. We do parties, monthly writer meetings and give-aways to keep things light. My view is that everyone is treated with respect, and as a professional. I'm very sorry this was not a good fit for you. We actively seek feedback from our writing team. I will be sure to share this with our Editor and CEO to see if we are missing something. Cheers
