Pros
Houston Advanced Research Center fosters a relaxed work atmosphere, competitive pay, and they cater lunches frequently.
Cons
they laid me off unexpectedly two weeks before Christmas. This is something they do annually. They claimed it was due to a lack of incoming grant money. It's hard to buy that when they have millions in reserve, cater lunches often, and were in the process of building a new office building. The training I received there was very subpar. I learned more in 1 month at the next job than I did in 9 months at HARC. Attempts to learn more only result in frustration. They have a lot of debt to other institutions they work with. I went through 3 rounds of interviews just to work there a short amount of time.
