Pros

Honor is a fast-paced startup with a compelling mission. Over the course of my career, I've had the opportunity to work for a number of different startups. Honor compares favorably to these experiences on a number of different levels. First off, while most startups operate with an unapologetic tech/product first mentality, Honor operates with the perspective that we are first and foremost in the business of serving people - our employees, our caregivers, our clients and the people who care for them. This ethos permeates through the organization and informs our decision making in a way that much is much more real and tangible than at other companies that merely pay lip service to the concept of prioritizing people first. At Honor, I've had the privilege to work with some of the smartest and hardest working people I've encountered in my career to date. The people that I work with all prioritize the success of the company and our mission over personal aspirations - which is a rare thing, especially with a group as driven and competent as the leadership team at Honor. Finally, it gives me great confidence to know that our founders are all startup veterans with successful exits under their belt.

Cons

Startup life isn't for everybody. The pace is extremely fast and you have to be ready to pivot and move on a dime. It's definitely not a M-F, 9-5 work environment. While it's not unmanageable, expect to find yourself checking in "after hours" and keeping up to date on how things are going even when you're out of the office. This is pretty par for the course at most start ups, and the team here tries to cover for each other as much as possible, but it's important to keep in mind. Finally, the rate at which the company is scaling means that your day to day contribution could look very different 6 months from now than it does today, which is great for people who are looking to rapidly build new skills and expand their scope - but might be overwhelming for people who are more used to a slow and steady work environment.

Thanks for taking time to write a review! We are proud to hear you are compelled by our Mission and you've experienced People being prioritized! We value the contributions people bring to the company and constantly look for ways to encourage and recognize employees...stay tuned for a new employee Rewards and Recognition Program! We understand a company that is scaling quickly can come with pain points where you feel you have to be on 24/7, but we do not want to burn out our employees. We want employees to feel empowered to take time off and unplug so they can re-engage and come back to work refreshed.

Pros

Coworkers are great because you're going through the same thing together. With that being said, proceed to the cons

Cons

Where do I start? - Poor Management - Poor Leadership - Poor Operations - No room for growth - Extremely small pay - No overtime pay but expected to work 14 hour days - Zero work life balance - Can't go to your Manager with a concern without being placed on a PIP because they're ready to fire anyone for no reason - Turning Homecare into Amazon - Can care less about the Caregivers. PAY THEM MORE!!!! They claim to but they can really care less about them - To put the cherry on top, they like to approved requested time off and then reverse it after being approved and tell you that you can't go on your approved time off because you need to work holidays.
