Pros

Money is OK but benefits slowly being removed. Looks good on CV and the industry is somewhat stable, although highly supported thru Government (military) contracts.

Cons

1) Remote leadership makes the calls and therefore is out of touch with local requirements (resources/ equipment/etc). 2) Local leadership merely puppets and jump when US talks. 3) HOS operating system not geared for low volume/high end unit production, hence waste is created in the massive administration required to upkeep graphs, charts and various sub-programs (kaizens/RPS/5S) which do nothing more than appease the remote leaders during the dog and pony shows during their visits. 4) Too many management layers which has created "silos" in the organization. Cross departmental help is nearly non existent as charge numbers are required for everything. Managers too concerned on containing costs for their empires and create more barriers than they remove. 5) Internal promotions non-existent as local management prefers to hire "fresh" minds (i.e. no experience to challenge them). 6) Local finger pointing (from leadership) now a common culture since their power/control is very limited and any criticism of remote leadership decisions would be a career ending move. The result becomes a very toxic atmosphere where front line workers are under a microscope at all times. Tier meetings (at all levels) fail to address main barriers and become nothing more that nit picking sessions resulting in a public flogging. Very demoralizing start to the day.

Pros

Dedicated professionals to allocate responsibilities; clear learning objectives; opportunities to assist engineers in the field.

Cons

Upper-tier management is a bit disorganized. Nobody seems to know what was promised in our contracts. Our scope is a bit vague sometimes.

Pros

Interesting product offerings, learning both global and domestic industry, ability to climb the ladder and have career growth if you work hard. Great people within the business.

Cons

Honeywell corporate culture is very negative. They don't really care about employees, and many executive level managers will ask for things that require late night and weekend work. There is very little work life balance, and no cross training so you still may be contacted or expected to pitch in while you are on vacation.
