Pros

The Front Desk Stsff and Spa Director Jolie Erickson are incredibly helpful and supportive. They always listen and are willing to help with anything I have concerns over. Jolie will treat you with respect and kindness and I have only good things to say. I also really like the room, has everything you need and is big enough to move around in, automatic table too! The clients are also endearing, they really appreciate your work and it was honestly hard to leave them. This job is an introverts dream, only one other room in the spa and it is for the esthetician Laura, who is adorable and a joy to work with when I see her.

Cons

Sometimes you have to remind clients it is not appropriate to disrobe before you leave the room. They always comply but it does get a bit annoying.

Pros

You have the flexibility to work hybrid.

Cons

Where to start… The training is severely lacking. I spent one week with the “trainer” who was not onsite and had their own accounts to manage so they were not easily accessible for questions or support. I was given 25 clients to manage which was a lot but it was made worse due to the status of the accounts. I uncovered gross negligence of almost all the accounts I was given. When I asked about how the company insures quality control and if the accounts were periodically audited, I was told that they had never done that. I couldn’t believe it. These accounts had been through so many hands, due to high accountant turnover, and nobody thought it was a good idea to ensure that the accounts were accurate or have random audits?! The inconsistency of the work done from accountant to accountant is concerning. The pay is a direct reflection of the quality of work they settle for. They don’t pay a liveable wage and overwork you. It is across the whole organization and again, the quality of work suffers for it. I had several clients who were being charged late fees because bills weren’t being paid on time (due to a “new and improved” AP system) and management didn’t see an issue quietly passing those expenses along to the HOAs. Unethical. Do not work here if you take pride in your work and won’t compromise your standards. You aren’t given the time needed to do things properly and will penalized for not rushing things. They value quantity over quality which is something you can’t do when it comes to accounting and accuracy. I brought up all of these concerns to management and it met with disregard. I feel bad for the HOAs who do business at HOAMCO.
