Pros

I have been with the firm for over 11 years now and have a very good understanding of the firm and how the firm operates. This is a fast past firm, and we take pride in cases from an administrative side all the way to the associates who also strive for perfection. Many cases go to trial and victories at trial are high. In my 11 years I have watched the firm grow and have seen many staff as well as attorneys thrive at the firm. Because the firm is so fast pace there is never any downtime and unfortunately, as reflected in some of the other reviews, many people simply cannot handle the fast paced environment or are not willing to put in the work while they are here.

Cons

I don't see any cons with the firm, otherwise I wouldn't have been here for as many years as I have been.

Pros

Close to freeway. Water. Coffee. Also worked earlier than 2019 but drop down button didn’t allow.

Cons

In my personal experience, I felt as though there was a strong preference for Caucasians. And particularly cut from a conservative cloth. It seemed that if you were a member of the chosen few (who were all Caucasian) you could get away with anything. A couple of us attorneys who were minorities in the Orange County firm felt like the “other” at times. I did not feel diversity or inclusion were valued at this firm. The firm portrays itself in the interview as a “family” (which should have been a warning to me) but it was horrific to watch how they bullied attorneys and staff. I found the culture to be shockingly disgusting. Refer to Hines carder or Hines smith carder reviews. When I worked there, they constantly turned over staff. Somehow management hasn’t figured out that people work more effectively if you treat them with respect. Management seems to think that they have to be jerks to get anything done. Apparently, all the other attorneys or staff who wrote reviews must have all gotten it wrong.
