Pros

Opportunity to build your job skills far beyond the strengths you have when you walk in the door. Health insurance premium is covered if you do not have any dependents.

Cons

Company does not promote from within. Company saddles employees with an ever-increasing amount of responsibilities without compensating accordingly or even recognizing employee achievements. If you do a great job your only reward is more work. Employees are expected to be resourceful and independent because they have little support from management. Anyone who needs a leader will fail. Company treats non-American employees differently than American employees. Employees who express dissatisfaction are fired. Company is partially owned by the Chinese government and there is a rather communist mentality of "keep quiet, keep your head down, you're not special, you're easily replaced, you should be grateful just to be here."

Pros

The team members were supportive and willing to answer technical questions, which helped me quickly understand the project structure and engineering practices. I also learned a lot about integrating machine learning models into real production environments.

Cons

I did not encounter any major issues during my internship. Most of the challenges were related to learning new systems and technologies, which was part of the learning process.

Pros

As a multinational company, Hikvision offers great exposure to well-established professional processes and the opportunity to work alongside talented colleagues from diverse backgrounds. Employees also get the chance to take ownership of important, high-impact projects, which is valuable for career development

Cons

The North America business has been in decline, which creates uncertainty around growth opportunities and team stability. Compensation is also not competitive compared to industry standards in the region, making it harder to retain top talent
