Pros
- Drove cool cars - Got some time out of the office
Cons
Where do I start with this? I was hired at Hertz to work as a Branch Manager Trainee and came in with optimism and a drive to succeed. I left two months later feeling dejected and defeated. The main thing you need to know is that this is NOT the car rental business. It's the insurance business. You'll get commission for any add ons you make, but so many people are already insured, so that never happens, but if you can't do it you'll be disrespected and ridiculed like you're the problem. Part of the problem is the timeline that Hertz puts you on. You're expected to learn all the ins and outs of the job within three months, which is not nearly enough time for such a complex job. They're also very shady. I got told up front that lunch breaks were for a full hour, yet got ridiculed and harassed when I took the full hour. Plus, I was criticized for wanting to leave when I was scheduled. I understand that once in a while I need to stay to help out, but not every day. If you're considering employment with them, don't do it. Save yourself the time and stress and find something better.
