Pros
If you have a solid management team that creates a positive culture, it can be a good place to work. Women have the ability to get promoted faster and easier. Drive a company car at the branch manager level.
Cons
Motivation and leadership is fear driven. At all levels. Hit your numbers, or get written up. Because of this, employees do shady business practices which gives the rental car industry a bad name. "Senior" leadership looks the other direction (GM, AM) as it pads their territory's numbers. These shady practices get rewarded with promotions which creates an endless cycle. The bonus structure has changed countless times and not for the better... salary can increase year over year but your total take home pay decreases. No communication between the branches and the pricing. The strategy is to overbook and let the branch deal with unhappy customers. The high utilization causes branches to put cars out on the road, that may not be safe, continuing to give the industry a bad name. Extremely long hours and stress. Not uncommon to work 60 plus hours a week. And have to come in on weekends. Harder to promote if you are male.
