Pros

Remote working - that's the only pro I can think of.

Cons

This company rotted my mental health, I would advise anyone to steer clear from them as they do not care for your mental wellbeing. From the day I started I was expected to know the company inside out and was given no training and very little guidance, this was a major red flag and I should have known from then that it was going to be a shambles. I was met with arrogance and told I was asking too many questions - only for them to later realise they forgot to share a vital learning tool with me to enable me to actually do my job properly. I was told in my interview that I would have flexible shifts and I would work on a rota basis, when I brought this up in my first couple of weeks I was told to discuss this with the other staff member and if we were unable to come to an agreement between ourselves (!) they mentioned they would need to bring in a founder to "sort it out". This went unmentioned for weeks and then I was basically forced to work the late evening shift for the next 5 months until I had to eventually say it was too much and I had commitments and needed at least one early shift. The department was a mess and there was no real rules because when a founder decided they didn't like something, every "rule" changed based on circumstance. The founders have no respect for your job role because if they decide something isn't good enough, you're berated and made to feel you are not doing your job properly, even though you have followed the guidelines given. No sympathy for you if you go through any type of life issue, I basically had to beg before given any time off. HR isn't even a department, it's one person who wouldn't dare challenge a founder. When they decided they were done with me because I wasn't lying down and taking the abuse and unprofessionalism, they micromanaged me out and started pulling me up on trivial things to break me which led to my resignation. This company is toxic and do not deserve some of the lovely people they have working for them.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us and we’re sorry that working in customer service at Hertility wasn’t right for you. Fostering a positive working environment is extremely important to us and we do everything within our power to make Hertility the best working environment it can be. We are continuously building more structure into our teams and developing our teams and managers. Our onboarding and training programme is one that receives excellent feedback from all staff. Many of your comments are harmful and inaccurate. We were extremely accommodating of your last minute requests to take time off, we supported you with paid compassionate leave, regularly rearranged your shifts, granted last minute holiday to ensure that you could support your family members, provided you with complimentary counselling when you explained that you were struggling with your mental health, made adjustments to your role to ensure that you were successful and provided you with extra training and support when you needed it. We supported you to not work your notice period when you explained how important it was for you to move on to your new role quickly and this left us in a difficult situation with covering your shifts, however we chose to do this as we try to make the right decisions for our team. There was an issue with your shift pattern and we worked as quickly as possible to resolve this and apologise for any inconvenience this caused you. We have learnt from this and now any roles that do work a shift pattern (the majority of our roles do not), this is clearly advertised in the job description. For clarity, we didn’t “decide we were done with you” - we accepted your resignation. We would welcome a further conversation with you to learn more about your specific experience so we can continue to address key issues; please reach out to our People Team at: hr@hertilityhealth.com. Pros

My recruitment process was very clear from start to finish. From the LinkedIn ad of the job to the job offer and the onboarding, it was a really refreshing experience. The interview process was explained to me clearly and I had enough time to prepare but also enough information to feel equipped for the interviews. Everybody involved in the process was really approachable and helpful with any questions I had. Once I had the job offer, Hertility were supportive from start to finish and each week I was kept in the loop about my onboarding and anything I needed to do before I started work. Hertility was also very accommodating about some flexible working options. I felt supported from the beginning. I was given lots of information when I joined about the company, the role etc., was allocated a buddy and have had catch ups with most of the people in the team - who all made an effort to make me feel welcome and to get to know me. This is crucial in a remote-working environment. I have just come from a company with virtually zero culture and whilst I am still fairly new to the role here I can tell that the culture embedded from the very top is amazing.

Cons

Honestly, from a recruitment process perspective, I really can't fault Hertility.

Thank you so much for sharing this. It really means a lot to us. We put a lot of care into the recruitment process and how we welcome new people to Hertility, so hearing that you felt supported prepared and genuinely welcomed from day one is incredibly rewarding. Building a culture where people feel seen heard and cared for, especially in a remote setting, is something we’re very intentional about. We’re so glad you’re part of the team and we’re excited to keep growing together 🌱

Pros

Hertility is a genuinely mission-driven company where the work feels meaningful and impactful, which creates a strong sense of purpose day to day. The teams are full of talented, passionate people who care deeply about what they do, and everyone is incredibly determined, knowledgeable and always willing to help when needed. The fast-paced environment means you learn quickly and gain exposure to responsibilities you wouldn’t typically get in a larger organisation. There is good flexibility, supportive leadership, and the excitement of working on innovative projects across SaMD, AI, and new product development.

Cons

As with any scaling start-up, Hertility is still building out many of its processes, which can sometimes create ambiguity, duplicated effort, or situations where you need to figure things out independently. Resource constraints can make workloads feel heavy, and communication varies across teams while cross-functional alignment continues to develop. Deadlines can also be very tight, and at times it can feel like you’re constantly chasing your tail to keep up with the pace and volume of work. The rapid pace of change can feel intense if you prefer very structured or stable environments. However, these challenges are typical of a company transitioning from start-up to scale-up and improvements are ongoing.
