Pros
Working at Heggerty is rewarding knowing that the curriculum they offer is actually making a difference in children's literacy skill development across the US & the world. Furthermore, the team at Heggerty is incredibly supportive (a true "family" feel you don't see in most private-sector companies). As an added plus, the time off benefits are great for a private company. Heggerty observes most/all of the major bank/federal holidays, plus a full week off between Christmas & New Years Day for all staff without counting against PTO.
Cons
It's a lot of hard work, and sometimes that can mean working beyond the typical 9-5. So you need to be prepared for that - if you're just looking for a strict 9-5 and aren't willing to be flexible, Heggerty may not be for you. That said, the company stresses work life balance starting with the CEO, which is greatly appreciated.
