Pros

The personal development philosophy sounds convincing on the surface.

Cons

- Messaging around accountability and growth was forceful, yet internal organization failed to show even basic discipline. - Administrative workflows were inconsistent, creating constant and avoidable confusion. - Instead of clear task ownership, responsibilities overlapped or stalled without direction. - That glaring mismatch between philosophy and execution became exhausting almost immediately. - High standards were pushed relentlessly, yet structural support remained weak and unreliable. - Alignment between values and operations is severely lacking.

Thank you for sharing your perspective. We’re glad our philosophy around personal development resonated on some level, but we’re sorry to hear that your day-to-day experience did not reflect the same level of clarity and consistency. Our current CEO returned in 2022 after stepping aside in 2016, and much of this feedback reflects a period of leadership that is no longer in place. Since 2022, we have focused on strengthening leadership practices and workplace standards, and remain committed to accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.

Pros

Great to see Lauren Handel back rebuilding her first and original company. Old leadership left a mess and of course, bad reviews. Thankfully she is here to stay and is growing the business how she originally intended.

Cons

Takes time to rebuild a company but she is making it happen.

Pros

Some people on the team were actually decent to work with.

Cons

he whole place runs on who you know, not what you do, and it gets exhausting watching the same people get every good project while everyone else watches from the sidelines. There's this inner circle that just keeps feeding itself and the rest of us are expected to pick up the slack while they take credit for work they didn't even touch — which honestly gets old. No one even pretends it's fair anymore, people just accept it and move on, which is somehow worse because it means nobody's trying to fix it. The real problem is there's actual talent here that gets wasted because being good at your job doesn't matter, it matters if the right person likes you. You can feel the resentment building and people are jumping ship because they're tired of watching the same people fail up the ladder while doing actual work gets you nowhere. It's just depressing to watch a place where merit is treated like a joke.
