Pros
The students are pretty amazing.
Cons
I understand that the academic job market is rough right now, but I do want anyone who chooses to work here to fully understand the environment you'll be walking in to. Faculty have no voice--none. They lure you in with lies so believe nothing they say in your interviews. The tenure requirements are impossible to achieve--must bring in 250k in grants to secure tenure WHILE teaching a 4/4+ load. Loads are supposed to be 4/4 but university is understaffed so end up being 5, 6, 7+ classes a semester. No money for reimbursements for travel/conferences/etc even if they say there is. Expectation is if you're not on campus, you're not working, so forget days where you can work from home. The workload is unsustainable and still it's not enough. Avoid at all costs if you can.
