Pros
To start with I used to love everything at HERE. I loved my job and I had so much fun at this company. Some positives about HERE (there used to be way more): 1) you will be dealing with amazing industries and markets and the projects are fun to work on 2) lovely people working at HERE. I met amazing people whilst working at the company and everyone is super helpful and down to earth and intelligent.
Cons
The list could be endless, but I will keep it at a minimum by focusing on the main points. 1) company is going through a major re-org every year or so. If there has not been one for more than 1 year, you don’t have to wait for long. Currently the company has to save a lot of money and that meant lots of great people had to leave. 2) CEO and CMO don’t know what they’re doing. Strategies keep on changing and I believe until both leave the company will just go downhill. Especially the CMO needs to learn how to communicate, which is sad considering she has a communication background. 3) no career progression. Sadly career progression is low at least in marketing. Promotions come around not very often. And whilst I have been lucky, some people work there for 10 years and never got a promotion. Even if they’re doing great work. 4) pay is not up to date. The pay is not up to date with todays inflation and market rate. You will not earn bad, but not great either, considering the industry and HEREs strong competitors. If you’re looking for a career in location intelligence, maybe look at the competition.
