Pros

Once upon a time I could have filled this section with the pros of working within Green Duck. It was a fun, friendly and somewhat family filled environment. I honestly find it very hard to write anything positive about this company now. The two original MD's are great people and you receive free tea and coffee.

Cons

As previously stated this used to be an excellent company to work for. However with a work force of around 35-40 people, over 33 people have left in 15 months. The company decided to take a massive growth step and employ a new Director. Slowly after the 15 months this company has taken a down turn under his direction. The company that once cared about its people has no back bone and has been placed in charge by a man who I struggle to believe has a human bone in his body. Women treated far worse than us men. They are paid far less than us, no maternity package, accused that they may not turn up to work in case their children are ill. And most importantly will have no career progression within the company. For the rest of us if your face fits then you will be given the earth. If you dare to comment, have passion or knowledge then your unwanted. There is no training, lies made to employees about benefits and a Director who has to control every thing (even outside of work movements) Any positive notes that have been placed on here about this company have been written by Directors. I used to be proud to work at this company. Now I am proud to close the door and walk away. Bullying directors, weak Finance Directors, poor marketing, a misguided sales team, IT staff ill from stress. Not a party I would advise anyone to join.

Pros

The office is a nice relaxed and modern environment to work in. Management put trust in you as an individual to get the job done whether it is from home or outside of the 'standard' working hours. There is a honest and hardworking but friendly ethos which is proved by the strong relationships we have with our customers. The company listen to individual thoughts and suggestions and are keen to learn from those that have skills in the appropriate area to improve work which is a new experience for me having an employer that listens to what isn't working and changes it! We have a social and wellness team that plans fun activities which means everyone gets on well. Unlimited free tea, coffee and snacks from the 'cafe'. New and current technology provided to the staff and a nice chunky holiday allowance available to all. Open door policy with the directors which makes you feel like you are not alone. They are interested in personal development and are keen to understand how to help you grow as an individual. There are office dogs!!

Cons

Restricted parking and trapped between lots of schools and shops meaning peak traffic can be tricky (however flexible working means you could avoid this if you wanted). Maternity package is bog standard and nothing special which is a shame. As a company growing rapidly there has been a lot of change which can be unsettling and difficult to communicate effectively.

Pros

A great group of people who like to work hard and help each other with a great environment to spend 8 hours a day. The social and wellness committee put on regular events and the company provides facilities to help support a good work/life balance - including the new Games Lounge! We were also provided with an additional 5 days of holiday this year to our allowance based on the hard work of staff! The company has a clear picture of where it wants to go and what it wants to o which in turn provides employees the opportunity for development and progression.

Cons

Being a company that has been growing there has been times for hard work and stepping up to ensure successful implementation which has required additional commitment.
