Pros
Grata is amazing. Without a doubt, I'd say that my experience at Grata was the most intellectually stimulating and exciting work experience of my career. - The people are kind, passionate, and fun to be around. They are very smart and really understand the issues that our customers face. It's a very customer-centric business and product team. - Leadership is incredibly motivated (and motivating!) and continuously challenged us to be creative and take on ownership of our day-to-day work - The work itself is challenging, and very rewarding. The technology we built at Grata is a game-changer for the company search industry, and it was really stimulating to be work on such complex problems. We were forced to think outside the box, and the market rewarded us for doing so. - They'll give you a lots of responsibility from the start. When I was there, it was a very flexible work environment in terms of enabling us to choose where we wanted to focus and what skills we wanted to build. After working in Operations for a bit, I advocated for a switch to PM and was given the opportunity to showcase my capabilities. From there, I asked to involve myself more in longer-term strategy on top of the typical day-to-day PM work, and was again given the opportunity to grow. It made me feel incredibly valued
Cons
- They work hard, and expect employees to work hard as well. This is not necessarily a con, unless you are looking for a PM role where you can fly under the radar. Here, you definitely are expected to deliver high quality work and to take initiative in doing so. - At first, I felt that we were too diversified in our product offerings, which prevented us from really excelling at our core competency. As we progressed, however, leadership focused more acutely on the Search product, and that enabled the business to grow tremendously over the past 2 years.
