Pros

- Overall a very friendly, collaborative and intelligent working environment. - During the 6 months’ probation period both parties can cancel the contract with 1 week notice. After the probation the notice period is 3 months, which has its pros and cons. - Granta has now been taken over by ANSYS and there might be new opportunities for some staff.

Cons

- I agree with the other review stating that there is little appreciation of what you can actually do for the business, especially if you are new, while a long tenure and internal experience is highly valued. - Unfortunately, I have to also second the mention of bullying. As I understand it, there are some employees with substantial bullying history, getting away with it year after year. They have driven away new people who could have effectively contributed to the business, but the management seem disinterested in putting things right. - Lack of flexibility in terms of matching people's best skills and aspirations to the jobs than need doing. This seemed especially unfortunate considering that ANSYS is such a large company.

Pros

A leading, privately-held provider of materials data management solutions with established, blue-chip customers in aerospace and defense, automotive, high-tech, and other discrete manufacturing industries. Plus partnerships with the major PLM and simulation solution providers. Semi-annual customer consortia that provide input and prioritization on new product development. If you like to travel to Europe, the company is based in Cambridge, UK and you will have opportunities to travel abroad for company meetings. Very flexible travel policy

Cons

Management needs to be more open to considering and implementing constructive feedback from the field. Complex compensation plan Although it is privately held, most employees are granted a very small amount of stock options.
