Pros
Paying Tax is not a must, since they are not legally registered as entity in the Philippines, being a contractor here (not employed) means you need to pay your tax manually. Most of us aren't.
Cons
1. Misleading Year End Bonus - if you can see, there is a Year End Bonus written in the Jobstreet. It is just the 13th Month, plot twist number 2. 2. 13th Month is not a sure thing, since they are not legally registered in the Philippines. They are not required to give the employees the 13th Month, trust me, it's possible for them to not give it. You will not even get a pro-rated value when you resigned. 3. Very high number of newly employed being laid off within a month. I feel bad for people who has been laid off in Grammar Electrical during their first month. Imagine leaving your previous work just to get laid off within a month. They don't even realize they are destroying someones life and plans. They even don't regret it. Most of the reasons I heard is because, they are not good enough for their so called standards hehe. 4. Training period salary, As far as I know, they are only giving 40% of your salary during your training period. So good luck, when you get laid off within a month, you will get almost nothing. 5. Low salary, requiring high specs of IT Equipment. Imagine this scenario. -You get hired in Grammar -You bought (or loan) IT Equipment that they require - around 30-40k minimum?? -Your salary is 30k. -You get laid off in 2 weeks -You only get 40% of the half of your monthly salary. They usually do this because it almost cost them nothing. 6. Over populating of departments held by the manager. Since Accounts and HR Department is held by the country manager, they over populate employees in those departments so they look good. While, some of the tasks for the accounts are done by the Quantity Surveyors. HR Departments before has 4 people, with manager, while we are only 40+ in our team. HR ratio per employee is 1:10. They end up doing non-sense for the sake of doing something. Accounts is almost half of the whole PH team. 7. They lay off good employees who work for years within the day just because they don't need them anymore. 8. Micro management - standard metrics sucks. I think they only over complicate this thing just to have something to do. You will spend 20-40% of your time just to comply with this daily. They also use this to justify why you get laid off. 9. From "Family" to "We are not a charity" real quick. 10. Unfulfilled promises,
