Pros

- Medical Insurance - Office Snacks - Lots of learning possibilities - Mixer events - HR is open and accessible to talk-to, always helpful - Nice office view - Nice details for special holidays, gifts and tiny details from HR which are really awesome

Cons

- Noisy office. - Client(money) focused. - Your experience fluctuates a lot: from exciting great clients to clients with abysmal management, and this is especially true now that COVID-19 arrived, the company seems to be more focused on revenue than overall employee health. - Also, your experience depends a lot by the manager, some managers are great, communicative people, and others only appear to be there when the client complains about something. - Raises are short, especially if you're in upper engineering positions (SR, Tech Lead). - COVID Layoffs and suspensions. Having said those negative points, let's grade it by the lowest denominator: - Bad project management (especially if projects are client-managed). - Bad employee engagement management. - Work/life balance can be awful if you're working with a client that have monitoring responsibilities. - Wrong job descriptions: You might be offered to work on a technology and doing something completely different from that. This combination of factors made some Gorillas quit their jobs because some managers don't do anything other than focusing on account stability and revenue. Even though this is random, and some clients are fantastic, at the end, when the moment comes between deciding on customer happiness and revenue versus your health, company engagement, growth, and sanity, the company has demonstrated to be always inclined towards the client. Even if most clients are awesome, if this is a possibility, the company should take action to change this kind of situation.

Pros

No pros as of 2025.

Cons

HR is essentially a tool of management. They rarely defend employees and tend to cover up issues like retaliation or discrimination to protect the company’s reputation. Problems are often “resolved” through negotiated payouts to avoid escalation or public complaints. Their focus is on shielding leadership, not supporting employees. There is no work-life balance. You’re expected to be available at all times, and pushing back can put you at risk. Leadership is completely broken. The new CEO replaced most of the Executive Team with his friends and has fully overhauled the Sales Team as well. But turnover is constant — new hires leave quickly because of the chaos and lack of direction. The CEO’s decisions are driving the company toward bankruptcy. The company avoids large layoffs to protect its image but carries out small rounds every quarter, keeping employees in a constant state of uncertainty and fear. At the same time, the company counts cents and cuts corners while pretending everything is fine. Employees see the financial strain and the lack of strategy. Quarterly All Hands meetings are full of spin. Leadership announces “new clients” even before contracts are signed — it’s all about appearances, not reality. If you lose your client and are moved to Labs, your future is bleak. Either you’ll be fired within a couple of months or pressured to resign.
