Pros
Great benefits, and flexible hours for full time. MOST of the people were very polite and friendly.
Cons
Too much micro managing, favoritism and social cliques among other employees. I felt singled out. I understand that I wasn't in the job to initially make friends first, but it would be nice to work with someone you click. I was dissatisfied with the company and I felt like I couldn't be myself 100%. Also when I was being bullied by policyholders on some ocassions, I stood up for myself. I had NO tolerance and time for any form of disrespect. All I wanted to do was to help the policyholders retain their existing policies and they didn't want to listen. I do have to admit that I got very stern and had to raise my voice to some of them and they took offense to it. I was told at times I was being rude, which was NOT my intention to come across that way. I got reprimanded for defending myself, which was COMPLETELY unfair. I have helped this company retained many policies. I felt very underappreciated, misunderstood, and overlooked as an employee and human being. I understand that as reps, we should all be professional, and friendly at all times to every policyholder. In that way, we can help them retain their policies and their business. Yes the company is very BIG on production and wants to make money to keep the business open, but at the same time customers want to get great quality service. It's very one-sided with the management and policyholders. They WANT respect, yet some of them didn't give respect. Sometimes it was hard to maintain tough skin in this line of work. We're human and have our breaking points. Working for TMK was a learning, yet humbling experience for me. Also it was my first corporate/call center job.
