Pros

Non-management employees were typically bright, eager to work, and pleasant to work with. Pay was decent, and the offices were well appointed with all the tech startup creature comforts (snacks, ping pong table, video games, etc.)

Cons

Executive team is more concerned with shooting nerf guns and sending prank emails from unlocked computers than anything else. Keeping your head down and making little impact seemed to be the secret to surviving each round of layoffs. There's a rift between teams, lack of communication, little trust, and disorganization at the top will continue to be the biggest root cause. There was a constant elephant in the room due to a keen and widespread understanding of just how little was being sold.

Pros

There has been a noticeable shift toward positivity and growth. Our sales have seen a significant uptick which is reflective of solid business strategies with our current team. In the last year, our company culture has become far more collaborative and supportive which creates more of a sense of unity within the team. Looking ahead to 2024, there's a sense of optimism about opportunities for growth at all levels. I'm genuinely hopeful for this positive trend to continue.

Cons

The current reality at Gimmal is that the team is smaller than it should be. This shows that we work very well together but provides little in the way of backup or redundancy. As everyone wears multiple hats, there is higher chance for burnout among all levels of the team, and the responsibilities are sometimes hard to juggle. This is something to be mindful of if you have difficulty in balancing more than one responsibility. Time management is crucial to success at Gimmal.
