Pros

The hiring process moves fast. I went from application to offer within a week, which felt exciting at the time.

Cons

The speed of hiring turned out to be a red flag. What I didn't know when I joined was that the company had already gone through two rounds of layoffs (information that was never disclosed during the interview process). Six weeks into the role, I was let go along with roughly half the Berlin office in yet another "restructuring." Beyond the instability, the day-to-day environment was genuinely difficult. Collaboration was minimal, the culture felt toxic, and leadership seemed to operate without any coherent long-term vision, constantly shifting direction with no clear strategy. One more thing worth flagging: HR actively encouraged new starters to leave positive reviews on Glassdoor and other platforms. Make of that what you will when reading the glowing reviews.

Pros

I really like the work ethic. Problems are addressed and solved without making excuses or blaming others. The work is solution-oriented, and everyone tries to do their best. The ability to organize working hours flexibly and even work from home if necessary is a huge plus and makes the employer particularly attractive. Especially if you have a family, this flexibility makes it easier to balance family and work. I also like the collegial environment and the flat hierarchies. You can approach or write to anyone without having to pay attention to their position.

Cons

The only thing that's sometimes missing is more personal contact with some of the other colleagues. With two office locations and the option to work remotely, we often don't meet in person. Regular team events at least allow for personal exchange of work topics and personal interaction within the teams.
