Pros

Weekly pay structure, experience in healthcare, consistent expectations.

Inconvenient hours with absolutely no flexibility, demanding late hours if working as lab technician, and very poor communication from chief officers which significantly increased unnecessary stress and worsened morale.

Pros

you work with hard working individuals

Cons

I worked in the lab at Genetic Technological Innovations (GTI Laboratories) for several months, and the experience highlighted a profound lack of empathy and basic human consideration toward the frontline lab staff who keep the operation running. Management demonstrates virtually no understanding of the physical and mental demands placed on lab workers. Inflexible scheduling, mandatory late nights, weekend shifts, and frequent last-minute changes are standard, with zero willingness to accommodate reasonable requests for time off, schedule adjustments, or support during periods of burnout. Personal circumstances or signs of exhaustion are routinely ignored, sending the clear message that employee well-being is irrelevant as long as test volumes and turnaround times are met. Communication from leadership is consistently poor and one-sided. Changes in procedures, staffing shortages, or increased expectations are often implemented without advance notice or explanation, leaving the lab team feeling disrespected and perpetually undervalued. When operational issues arise — such as chronic understaffing or equipment challenges — the default response is simply to apply more pressure rather than provide meaningful support or resources. This approach has created a high-stress, exhausting workplace where burnout is common and turnover among experienced lab personnel is understandably high. The company appears to view its lab workers as interchangeable resources rather than skilled professionals deserving of respect and support. While the laboratory facilities are modern and pay can appear competitive if productivity metrics are consistently hit, these factors do not offset the damaging effects of a culture that prioritizes output over people. No amount of advanced equipment compensates for the absence of basic empathy and decency from leadership. I would strongly advise anyone considering a lab role at GTI Laboratories to look elsewhere. The demands are relentless, the support is minimal, and the long-term toll on well-being is significant.
