Pros

Um...Not many. Calls are not recorded so you don't feel under pressure to hit certain talking points that may or may not have anything to do with helping the customer.

Cons

Where do I start. Rules and procedures are made and changed quickly with no notice. They may or may not apply the next time something comes up. Then when you say you didn't know things changed, you are chastised for not following procedure. The mood in the office depends on the mood of the manager. And since the mood of the manager changes at the drop of hat, you never know what you are walking into. Technical support? Forget about it. If a client has an issue we submit a ticked which goes into a void and it may or may not get resolved some time in the next few months. You may get an email back asking to contact the client to see if it is still an issue. So they don't fix anything, just hope it goes away. Not everyone is treated the same. If a rule applies to one person, it should apply to everyone. Some people in this very small office do whatever they want while others get in trouble for the same thing. The management says they don't tolerate bashing because of religion or political party but it happens all the time.

I’m glad to see that you appreciate our different approach to customer service work, but I’m sorry to hear that other aspects did not serve you quite as well. I understand that the growth phase of new companies can be difficult and I hope that our evolution helps us to adjust in order to learn from our mistakes and improve. We strive to be an open and accepting environment and I will continue to work to make sure that every employee feels this; we’re sorry if you did not. Please contact our Director of Operations so that we can address some of your issues.

Pros

To take a moment to address my review title, I have been working at Gearfire for the last 4 years and 2 months. The company itself "began" in March of 2012. So at the time I was hired, Gearfire was "starting at the bottom" as well. My journey began as an Account Manager. Thankfully, I only had to endure that role for about six months (I'm not a phone person). An internal opportunity presented itself, and I was given a chance. From there, I flourished.... thanks to the Gearfire Team itself. This company (including upper management) is very open to your ideas. Got an idea to increase revenue? Know of a way to increase efficiency and improve day-to-day operations? SPEAK UP! These folks will listen. To address the concerns of previous reviews, all I can say is this. Presenting complaints is NOT the same as presenting solutions. This is a young company. Can things be improved? You bet. But someone has to be the catalyst. Good ideas are entertained, acted on and rewarded. Gearfire has given me more opportunities to better myself personally, professionally and financially than any company I have worked for in the past. I'm very grateful for that. That being said, my background was in ultra-competitive and cut-throat industries before I landed at Gearfire. But I believe that if you use your brain and work hard, you WILL be taken care of here. Gearfire has HUGE potential to grow exponentially. They're worth a look if you are pursuing a new opportunity for yourself.

Cons

Is there a such thing as a perfect work environment? Of course not. No matter what your place of employment or position is, there are good days and bad. Does everyone get along famously every day of the week? No. Are there days where you wish "that one thing" you've been waiting for to be implemented / introduced / activated? Yep. But Gearfire has taken (and continues to) big strides to improve operations, and to continue to grow the company. As far as compensation goes, you can make a living and be comfortable. I have no idea what everyone in the building's paycheck looks like, but lots of the folks here have been here for years. I guess the con would be that because the company is young, there are times when salaries offered may not be as competitive as similar roles elsewhere.
