Pros

Do not work here. Management is a disaster including CEO.

Cons

Pay and profit sharing bonus is mediocre at best. said we are changing for this year but will still be unfair. Spending way too much money for a CEO jncluding an 80k recruiter fee when the original two owners are still there taking pay and he has not made any significant changes except buying two small maintenance companies. Maintenance guy posing as a CEO of a design and construction company. Like watching a slow motion train wreck. Accounting department is a mess no matter who runs it - 6 controllers in a decade. So many problems and nothing changes except employees because everyone quits. One bad decision after another. Only a handful of people left that are worth anything.

Pros

The people that work at Garden Design are some of the best in the industry. Increased the associate PTO policy for 2019 Main managers are good people No major cash flow issues and good profits New work order system will be great once the snags are worked out

Cons

The main owner (majority share holder or whatever he wants to call himself), Andrew, needs to get out of the way of his main managers. He says that the company is "employee owned" but he does anything he wants with minimal care or concern to the managers. The profit sharing program is a complete joke - the main 5-8 people at the top get all of the money and most are left with less than a couple of weeks pay as a year end profit sharing. It benefits longevity, not quality of work. The health insurance is outrageous for families. Most people end up going on their spouse's plans. The main owner says he is going to retire in 2-5 years every year for the past 5 years - he is never going to leave and things will stay the same as long as he has any part in the business. If you can handle or ignore a very temperamental guy with limited vision and personal skills, you could manage to work here.
