Pros

Some teams are extremely high performing and maintain an enjoyable, productive work environment. There is often opportunity to investigate new areas/take on new roles. CEO is one of the most approachable, kind individuals ever.

Cons

Some teams neither are high performing nor maintain an enjoyable or productive work environment. There is an extreme over abundance of "thinkers" and not remotely enough "doers." The sales team environment is toxic. At the executive level, decisions are made in a vacuum when ample opportunity for relevant staff input exists, which results in clearly poor decision making. There is a giant and growing imbalance between offices/teams in terms of hours spent working.

Pros

A great environment for anyone to work in. The managers all the way up to the CEO have open door policies, and you can talk to them anytime. You really get the feeling that the organization cares about you as an individual. #1 is work/life balance. I've been in the workforce for 10+ years, and have never worked for a company/organization who balances life and work better than GuideStar.

Cons

Of course, you could say the pay or the upward mobility, but it's a nonprofit. I believe they stay as competitive with raises and promotions, as any other big nonprofit, if not better.
